Well, it is done, complete, over, finished............

I was thinking of a sunset as the finish to the 60/60/60 but instead chose it to be a....'SUNRISE'

so it is really not the end...it is not completed, finished, done.....it is just getting heated up!

This challenge has got me fired up for all kinds of things. So, as I drink a toast to all of you that bought paintings, make wonderful comments or gave me fabulous critique comments to help me become a better artist....'Salude'   here's to YOU!

#37...Aspens................#38.........October's Full Moon

Aspens are one of my favorite trees, even though they don't grow here in Ohio. I love seeing them each time I make it west; esp. if I am lucky enough to when they change colors. Even simply green, they are still beautiful, most notably for that textured silvery-white bark.

I am not a marathon painter by any means! I am exhausted after such a long day today; getting up before sunrise is not my usual plan. On the bright side, I did accomplish to paint quite a bit today.

#32 Lesson from Monet in 60 in 60 for $60

Being a traditional painter leaning towards realism, it was a real stretch for me to do one after Monet; esp. in his later years when he lathered on  paint in spots of flowers and swirled them around! This is how we learn. What a great time trying to figure out his process and feeling just a little more connected after doing this detail work from one of his very large water lily series.

I just couldn't decide on a background for this guy; then it dawned on me.........it was done and didn't need a background. The statement was about the rooster and his colors; that statement was made....

Productive time in the studio...finishing plein air pieces and a studio piece. Here is #19 that was painted plein air in Dubois, WY at Whiskey Basin. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been!

Number 18 is one of my favorites! Peonies are such short lived flowers and like lilacs, I just love their fragrance.

#17.... Welcome , all ye who enter......

Working on catching up...here is # 17 of 60 paintings in 60 days for $60...

 

This piece was painted on location on a beautiful sunny day in the midwest. I was drawn to the colors and the cast shadows but the entrance itself was so inviting!

 

 I did go in after I finished.....and sampled several wines!!!

Back to reality & catching up # 10, 11, 12 in 60 paintings in 60 days for $60

I elected to leave my laptop behind as I traveled to Colorado and Wyoming; one less thing to check through at the airport and I wasn't sure if I would have time to post anyhow. As it turned out, I was right; things were way too busy! Wonderfully so! Spending some time with family after so many years apart, was truly a treat. To that, add the beauty of the incredible and vast landscape of the west. I am still in awe. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this great adventure, so forgive me for not posting. I will do my best to get caught up in a timely manner.
