Here's # 13 and #14.... of 60 paintings in 60 days for $60

It is tough trying to fit yourself back in the scheme of things after a great adventure; especially when the adventure also has its moments of great stress. After the incredible time I had last year in Wyoming and Montana, I was due some, I guess.

It is quite a blessing to get to be with so many talented and wonderful artists at the SKB conference, sharing our singular passion, ART! Those that create as well as those that collect and support. Robert Bateman was inspirational to say the least and getting motivational support and critical thinking pointers from Bob Koenke and Bill Knapp. They cut me no slack! Now I must really get to work.

So I will do my best to finish this commitment of 60 in 60......working on other big ideas in the meantime. I have already followed through and proposed a solo show to a gallery. Sending out all my thank you cards and tokens of my appreciation.

Here are the next two ....

Back to reality & catching up # 10, 11, 12 in 60 paintings in 60 days for $60

I elected to leave my laptop behind as I traveled to Colorado and Wyoming; one less thing to check through at the airport and I wasn't sure if I would have time to post anyhow. As it turned out, I was right; things were way too busy! Wonderfully so! Spending some time with family after so many years apart, was truly a treat. To that, add the beauty of the incredible and vast landscape of the west. I am still in awe. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this great adventure, so forgive me for not posting. I will do my best to get caught up in a timely manner.

Here are paintings # 10-12..........remember, the $60 plus shipping is only good through the end of October, so if you are wanting gifts for the holidays, don't delay. Most paintings will revert to a price of $200 or more on Nov. 1, so these are all a real bargain! My way of saying thanks...

#3 SOLD! Here's #7 and #8.......... of 60 in 60 fpr $60

SOLD! Never get tired of hearing that word....especially when a painting goes to someone special for a commemoration of a particular event. This one will soon wing it's way to Kansas///

It has been a busy weekend with trying to still maintain a semblence of family time along with chores and still figure out your painting; then make time to paint it! Add trying to remember all you need to pack for two weeks, esp the art supplies and enough surfaces to keep up with this challenge. I'll do my best to not let you down...

#7 spent some time in the dark corner for misbehaving but got a reprieve today. Then I struggled with #8 because it was taken on a dark cloudy day and the values were so close. Guess that's part of the reason for this crazy venture...

By the Light of the Harvest Moon... # 6 of 60 in 60 for $60

Sure was a tough one tonight! I am trying to paint lighter but this is one I had set aside because I didn't know how to finish it. All I had was the tree limb and some green background and I knew it needed more. Initially, it was going to be about texture, but the little bird told me it wanted to perch there!

I really like working on this surface, an Ampersand gessoboard panel! Guess I need to order some more...(since I am selling a few more paintings.)

Traveling Teapot..... #5 in the 60 in 60 for $60

Today was a lesson in glazes and scumbling. I had this started (from probably at least a year ago) so I knew it was good and dry and decided to take a try at finishing it. I had used a bristle brush to paint the initial stages and on the gessoed panel, you could see every brush mark and the paint was very transparent in most places. I used a medium of Zest-it and linseed oil 50/50 to try this. I like the way it worked. In some places I used more medium for thinner glazes and then very little when I worked with opaques, like cad red light and cad yellow.

This teapot was purchased in Vermont and made it home in my suitcase with only one small break on the spout. I love the shape and color!

Remember, this price is good only through October...

Caught in the Act!............ #4 in the 60 in 60 for $60

I know, I should have stayed home from the auction and painted instead, but that darling little sewing machine spoke to me! Unfortunately, it went for way more than my pocketbook held; guess I wasn't meant to have it.

So to the studio I went after a very late supper and this bluebird decided it was the challenge tonight. I had a real special time with friends the day we sat and photographed these bluebirds! Eventually, the sun came out for a little bit, so I will probably paint a couple more.

I had a panel surface that I had applied some heavy impasto to and then smoothed over, leaving an interesting texture. I cut down the panel to paint this little 6 x 6....

This Storm shall also pass....#3 in the '60 in 60 for $60'

I truly believe that we are given hardships and challenges as a way to build character and as a way to gauge  the good times. How else will we know?

This was started in a workshop from a friend's photo. I only had an hour to work on it and knew it wasn't finished. Today I pulled it out and this is how I chose to complete it. Some of the simplest things can be the most difficult to render!

60 paintings/60days/$60 Day #1

Maybe I am a little crazy, but here goes. To get me painting more and giving you a great deal, I am going to attempt to paint 60 paintings in 60 days and you get the chance to purchase them for only $60!

It is good to work with an  'attitude of gratitude' and that is my motivation for this challenge. So many of you have been so wonderful to me that I want to keep 'paying it forward'.

I will be doing a bit of travel during this tremendous challenge, so for those of you that love the west, be sure to watch as many of these paintings will be done on location from Denver to Wyoming.

One will be from the Wagon Box Ranch for sure, as we mentor the students from Dubois, Wyoming, middle school and high school.

Here is day #1.......HURRY! at only $60 for an original oil painting, these will go quickly...
